✨Currently there’s 50% off this and all my other patterns!✨ A sweet, classic pattern that’s always a beloved gift for a new arrival. Wee Liesl works equally well in traditional (go with cream for perfect Call the Midwife vibes) and vibrant colours. It’s Sarah’s go to baby gift and she made this one (which she estimated as project 11) in Tough Sock from The Uncommon Thread. This colourway is Ripe Plum, a gorgeous rich purple that would be great for girls or boys. It’s a great use for a single skein of a beautiful sock yarn: this is the adorably tiny newborn size but up to the 18-24 month size can be worked with one skein. Superwash sock yarn is such a practical option for little ones - hard wearing, soft and easy to care for. Wee Liesl is worked top-down in one piece, with clever shaping incorporated into the feather and fan pattern for both the yoke and A-line body shape. The stretchy fabric and flared shape mean that if you knit it a bit big it can be worn for a surprisingly long time. I can’t decide whether this needs classic pearl or colourful buttons? If pearl the polypearl option is probably more practical than the real version, which I can’t bring myself to remove from their darling butterfly card anyway. If colourful, what colour would you choose? #babyknits #featherandfan #theuncommonthread #babyknitsweater #yarnspirations #handmade #thatsdarling #babyknitting #vintagebabystyle #vintagebabyknits #vintagebuttons #weeliesl
